Africa’s richest thoroughbred race

A new thoroughbred horse race in the calendar for Cape Town.

Along with the marketing team at Investec, Simplr was asked to develop the brand identity and visual system for this unique, high-profile, horse racing event. The event is set to be held annually, but for the inaugural event they wanted something simple, elegant and most importantly, black and white.

The identity depicts 2 horses going head to head, a strong symbol that epitomises the atmosphere and the energy of this elegant day at the races. The visual pattern system was derived from the jockey silk patterns of 4 of that major contributors for the event, and from there the use was endless.
